She/Her

Sydney Smoot, MSW, LGSW

Therapist

Sydney believes that healing happens through genuine connection—when people feel safe, accepted, and understood. She takes an integrative and holistic approach to therapy, drawing from attachment-based and trauma-informed frameworks. Mindfulness and self-compassion are central to her work, helping clients build awareness and nurture a kinder relationship with themselves.

Sydney works with children, adolescents, and young adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and more. She has a special interest in supporting individuals who have experienced the foster care system, as well as neurodivergent clients seeking affirming, strengths-based care. Known for her warm, down-to-earth presence, Sydney creates a space where clients can show up as their authentic selves. She views therapy as a collaborative process—one that invites curiosity, growth, and self-discovery at a pace that feels right for each person.

Outside of the Office

Sydney proudly calls herself a serial hobbyist—her interests range from reading fantasy novels and playing piano to chasing the perfect photo on her travels. She’s just as content exploring the outdoors as she is curled up with her cats watching documentaries. Her home is filled with art supplies, thriving (and sometimes not-so-thriving) plants, and the warmth of friends and family. For Sydney, joy is found in trying new things, nurturing what grows, and sharing it all with the people and animals she loves.
