Therapeutic Yoga
Beyond the physical postures, yoga serves as a somatic bridge to emotional wellness. While a standard workout focuses on external strength and endurance, therapeutic yoga looks inward, using the body as a doorway to the mind.

In a therapeutic context, the mat becomes a safe space to explore the "felt sense" of our experiences. We often carry stress, grief, or anxiety as physical tension in the shoulders, chest, or hips. By moving mindfully through these areas, we aren't just stretching muscles; we are creating space to acknowledge and release the emotions stored within them.
The breath is our most direct tool for regulating the nervous system. The simple act of a deep, conscious exhale acts as a physiological "sigh of relief." It signals to the brain that it is safe to let go of the "fight or flight" response, allowing the body to settle into a state of restorative calm. This transition—from effort to ease—is where healing begins.
Therapeutic yoga isn't about achieving a perfect pose; it’s about achieving a more compassionate relationship with yourself. It is a practice of clearing space, finding your anchor, and returning to a grounded center.
